Clinical Immunology Lab

The Clinical Immunology Laboratory at Rosalind Franklin University was established in 1988 as a pioneering laboratory specializing in cutting-edge immunological tests. It was one of the first to provide immunological testing for the diagnosis of recurrent pregnancy losses and unexplained infertility. The laboratory offers innovative immune assays, using both immunological and molecular biology methodology and state-of-the-art instruments. It provides services to physicians and patients nationally and internationally.

The laboratory, being part of Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science, has performed scientific research in the field of human reproduction for over two decades and has been established as a leading center in the area of reproductive immunology.

The laboratory continues to serve the physicians and patients with the implementation of new diagnostic assays.

About Us

The Clinical Immunology Laboratory at Rosalind Franklin University was established in 1988 to provide services and specialized tests in clinical immunology.

Among these specialized tests are assays for autoantibodies, flow cytometric based tests for phenotypes of white blood cells, cytotoxicity assays for nk function and assays for intracellular cytokines. In addition, molecular based assays for mutations of genes involved in coagulation abnormalities, HLA allele assays and tests for STDs are performed.

The Laboratory provides services for physicians in over 450 clinics in the United States and 30 countries.

At present the laboratory has 9 full time Medical Technologists, 1 Clinical Fellow, 1 Client Service Coordinator and 1 administrative assistant .

Fellowship

The Clinical Immunology Laboratory offers a 2 year Clinical Immunology Fellowship program for qualifying individuals who want to pursue a career in Clinical Diagnostic Immunology.

This program is only one of three in Immunology in the US that are accredited by the American Society of Microbiology, Committee on Postgraduate Educational Programs (CPEP).

Interested individuals should visit the American Society of Microbiology website to obtain information on requirements and application process.
