Dr. Wendy Rheault Shares Her Vision for the University’s Future During University Townhall

Dr. Wendy Rheault, RFU president and CEO, shared her vision for the university’s future during her university town hall, “Projecting a Portrait of Tomorrow,” on Sept. 24.

“All of you have worked very hard, and I thank you for giving us a foundation of strength,” Dr. Rheault said during her address to the RFU community. “But I also want you to think about our future. What is our university going to look like in 10 years?”

Dr. Rheault outlined four core principles essential to realizing that future: advancing the team approach to health care and research to meet the needs of society; compassionate care as a standard for all; innovation and leadership in education, research and community service; and the creation of resources to support our aspirations.

She also discussed the university’s strategic plan for 2020–2023, which focuses on educating the healthcare providers our communities need, advancing scientific discovery, removing economic barriers for students through scholarships, and expanding simulation and other essential learning resources. Following a question and answer session with the audience, Dr. Rheault attended a meet and greet reception for faculty, students and staff.
