A key figure in guiding the Dr. William M. Scholl College of Podiatric Medicine to become a part of Rosalind Franklin University, Terence Albright, DPM, passed away in December 2023.
Dr. Albright served as president of Scholl College when it merged in 2001 with RFU, then known as Finch University of Health Sciences. He then assumed the role of Scholl College’s dean in the institutional transition, serving until 2010.
“Dr. Albright was a visionary with numerous accomplishments that included the introduction of a research agenda and development of the Center for Lower Extremity Ambulatory Research (CLEAR) at the college,” said Scholl College Dean Stephanie Wu, DPM, MSc, FACFAS. “CLEAR turns 20 this year having amassed millions in grant funding and over a thousand awards, honors and publications over that time — a testament of his legacy.”
At RFU’s 96th Commencement in 2010, Dr. Albright was awarded the honorary degree of Doctor of Humane Letters and hailed in the accompanying proclamation for returning Scholl College “to a preeminent position among colleges of podiatric medicine in the United States (and) ensuring that the college was an integral part of the growing success at Rosalind Franklin University.”
Dr. Albright’s passing was announced by the American Podiatric Medical Association (APMA), which he served as president from 1998–99.
