Sherita Meyer-Gauen
Dr. Meyer-Gauen is a Lecturer in the Department of Interprofessional Studies at Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science (RFUMS). She is also a Clinical Preceptor at the School of Health Professions and Chief Histologist at MD Anderson Cancer Center. She holds a Doctorate of Interprofessional Healthcare Studies, and a Master of Health Professions Education, both from RFUMS, and a Certification in Histology with Qualification Immunohistochemistry from the American Society of Clinical Pathologists.
Dr. Meyer-Gauen's primary area of interest is curriculum design methodologies and learning theories commonly used in interprofessional education (IPE). She is also interested in exploring how interprofessional education can be applied in clinical research education and the health professions.
Before her tenure in higher education, Dr. Meyer-Gauen gained practical experience as an environmental specimen analyst. Her work involved analyzing water quality and recommending environmental improvements to various communities and companies in the Gulf Coast region. This real-world experience informs her teaching and research in healthcare and education.
