Nancy Parsley, DPM, MHPE
Nancy L. Parsley, DPM, MHPE, is the Provost for RFUMS. Dr. Parsley graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelors of Arts degree in Business Management from Mundelein College and graduated Cum Laude with a Doctorate in Podiatric Medicine from the Dr. William M. Scholl College of Podiatric Medicine, in Chicago, Illinois. Dr. Parsley completed three years of podiatric surgical residency training at the Northern Virginia Podiatric Residency Program, which included post-graduate training in Lower Extremity Reconstructive Plastic Surgery at the Georgetown University Medical Center, in Washington, DC. Additionally, Dr. Parsley received her Masters Degree in Health Professions Education from the University of Illinois at Chicago in Chicago, Illinois. Her thesis, "Podiatric Medical Students' Perceptions of Professionalism in the Clinic Setting: A Qualitative Analysis", won the 2011 Best Thesis Award.
Upon completion of her residency training, Dr. Parsley joined the United States Congress as a Congressional Fellow, in Washington, DC. She then went on to private practice while also becoming a fundamental part of the American Podiatric Medical Association as its Policy and Practice Officer before being promoted as the Director of Health Policy and Practice, in Bethesda, Maryland. In 2007, Dr. Parsley joined the Dr. William M. Scholl College of Podiatric Medicine as the Associate Dean of Academic Affairs and has served as Dean from January 2011 to 2019. She is an Associate Professor in the Department of Podiatric Surgery and Applied Biomechanics. In September 2015, Dr. Parsley added the additional role of Associate Provost of Interprofessional Strategy for RFUMS to her duties and assumed the role of Vice President for Academic Affairs in August 2017.
Dr. Parsley has served on numerous professional committees and received many honors and awards, including the Scholl College Alumnus of the Year and Presidential Honor in 2003, recognition as one of the Top 100 Most Influential Podiatrists multiple times, including most recently in 2017, and honorable mention for the Annual Podiatry Management Lifetime Achievement Award. Dr. Parsley served as Chair of the Board of Directors of the American Association of Colleges of Podiatric Medicine 2015-2017 and as Vice-Chair for two years prior and is a member of the American Podiatric Medical Association and Illinois Podiatric Medical Association.
