Dr. Broutman received her MD from the University of Michigan Medical School. She completed her Internal Medicine Residency at the University of Michigan Hospitals.

She is board certified in internal medicine. She has taught medical students at the Chicago Medical School since 1998.

Dr. Broutman received the Laureate Award from the Northern Illinois Chapter of the American College of Physicians in 2004, Special Recognition for Contribution to CMS Educational Innovation 2015-2016, and the Outstanding Faculty award for the Patient Safety course at the Chicago Medical School in 2016. Her interests include teaching, advising, patient safety, and grading notes. She enjoys doing crossword puzzles in her spare time. Of course, her primary passion is her family.
