Medical Education

The Office of Medical Education is committed to providing a high quality educational experience that will produce exemplary physicians. The office works collaboratively with students, faculty and staff to:

  • Create and maintain the schedule for all Phase I (M1 and M2) courses
  • Coordinate and assist with exam administration and analysis
  • Oversee sophomore electives and all independent projects
  • Schedule the required M4 sub-internship
  • Oversee M4 electives
  • Collect data for the purposes of curricular management, assessment, and enhancement
  • Support the work of the Curriculum Committee and its subcommittees

Provides support for assessing and evaluating medical education M1-M4 Year. This includes medical education trends, accreditation, assessment, and best evaluation practices. Reviews current courses for interprofessional components, assists faculty in developing interprofessional formats for courses shared with students from other professions, and promotes interprofessional experiences for students.

Facilitates the production of course syllabus and competency maps. Coordinates comprehensive reviews of course/clerkship/sub-i syllabus, in collaboration with subcommittees and course directors. Serves as Chief Proctor for NBME exams.

Assists the department of Medical Education in most administrative functions.  Manages the Vice Dean's calendar for meetings with students, faculty, and staff.  Schedules travel arrangements for conference registration and hotel/air booking as needed and prepares department budget reports.
