The time I had spent at Rosalind Franklin University has shaped my academic career and afforded me more opportunities than I could have imagined. The field of Reproductive Immunology, is at the intersection between basic sciences and clinical correlation, which allows endless possibilities to create cutting edge advancements in women's health. I believe it is currently at the frontier of medicine similar to where REI or MFM was ~ 30 years ago. We routinely collaborate with scientists and postgraduate fellows to advance the discipline. For example, one component of the fellowship I found extremely beneficial was the weekly didactics. It facilitated a time for me to learn about a world that was unbeknownst (new) to me, improved my ability to effectively communicate about research, fostered lasting professional relationships with tenured faculty from institutions around the world, and built my confidence, all while becoming a reproductive immunologist. After completing the fellowship, I am poised to enter the world of clinical reproductive immunology and I feel equipped to aid in the advancement of this field of medicine.
