Jeff Espina, MBA

Vice President of Clinical Services, Privacy Officer

Jeff Espina, MBA, joined Rosalind Franklin University in February 2022 as the Vice President of Clinical Services for the University Health Clinics and in January 2023, the Clinical Immunology Laboratory. In his role, he provides executive oversight for the Health Clinic services in Podiatric Medicine, Reproductive Medicine and Immunology, Behavioral Health, Physical Therapy, the Community Care Connection (CCC), the Interprofessional Community Clinic (ICC), and laboratory services at the Clinical Immunology Laboratory.

Mr. Espina has over 20 years of healthcare management experience with surgical specialties, musculoskeletal care, medical subspecialties and kidney/dialysis care. He earned his bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Leadership and his Master of Business Administration degree from National Louis University in Chicago. Prior to joining Rosalind Franklin University, Mr. Espina was with DaVita Inc., served as the Midwest Vice President of Operations, and was one of the founding executives to launch a new dialysis service line that introduced in-house dialysis care inside skilled nursing facilities in the Midwest. The new service line was a critical alternative to the common practice of patient transportation to outpatient dialysis centers, which launched at the height of the COVID pandemic. His career in healthcare operations, clinical practice finance, and hospital/medical group administration, included 16 years with NorthShore University HealthSystem (Endeavor Health). His last impactful contribution as the Assistant Vice President, was launching the NorthShore Orthopaedic Institute for the organization.

Mr. Espina is a Desert Storm Veteran who served with the United States Air Force as a certified Firefighter and EMT at Castle AFB in California. During his deployment at Operation Desert Storm, he assumed the leadership role as the Fire and Rescue Crew Chief for the F-117 Stealth Fighter at a Top Secret base in the mountains of Saudi Arabia. Accredited by the International Fire Service Accreditation Congress (IFSAC) and in accordance with the National Fire Protection Association’s (NFPA) Qualification Standards, his certifications included Firefighter II in Structural Fire Protection, Airport Fire Fighter, Apparatus Driver Operator in structural and flight line, and completion of Wildland Fire School from the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection (CDF).
