School of Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies

Degree Programs

The School of Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies provides several academic programs leading to advanced degrees in biomedical sciences.  Programs leading to the PhD and Master degrees in basic science research are available.  Students who seek a PhD enter the Interdisciplinary Graduate Program in Biomedical Sciences (IGPBS).  This program provides foundational knowledge in biomedical sciences and research opportunities for the student to select research topics for their doctoral work.

In conjunction with the Chicago Medical School and the Dr. William M. Scholl College of Podiatric Medicine, programs culminating in combined MD/PhD and DPM/PhD degrees are also available.  These programs provide interdisciplinary and interprofessional experience for careers that unite basic biomedical research and clinical practice.

The Faculty Doctoral Program at Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science provides training and research experience in basic biomedical science for current faculty to strategically advance their careers.  Successful completion of this program leads to the PhD.
