Site directed mutagenesis of recombinant NGF expressed in the baculovirus - insect cell system in order to delineate the amino acids important in the interaction of NGF with its receptor.
Development of NGF mutant proteins specific for receptors and signaling pathway.
Thermodynamic and kinetic characterization of the interaction of native and mutant NGFs with recombinant extracellular domains of the two receptors.
The role of p53 and protein kinases in the signaling pathways leading to differentiation, survival (anti-apoptosis), and cessation of proliferation of PC12 cells after NGF stimulation
