Welcome to RFUMS HelixNet Wireless

 

Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science provides wireless network services for RFUMS students, faculty, staff, and guests. This service is an extension to the traditional hard-wired networking ports available in offices, classrooms, libraries, and other areas. This new connectivity makes it easy for people with laptops and PDA’s to move around campus with ease while staying connected to the network.

This wireless network is designed, configured, and supported by the Information Technology Services Department.

Four wireless networks have been made available for your use:

• HelixNet: an encrypted wireless network for use by the students of RFUMS. This network provides an external connection to the Internet.
• HelixNet_Guest: an encrypted wireless network for use by sponsored guests of the University. (Please note: This is not a public network.) This network requires pre-registration with the Information Technology Services Help Desk.
• Faculty / Staff personal device wireless connectivity (contact the Helpdesk for more information).
• Faculty / Staff internal network access (contact the Helpdesk for more information).

These four networks require authentication and have been designed in accordance with the RFUMS Wireless Networking Policy. All wireless access points support 801.11 a/b/g/n standards.

These networks are available in the Basic Sciences Building and the Health Sciences Building.
